1999 ließ er sich für sieben Tage lebendig in einem Glassarg begraben. Im Jahr 2000 wurde er für knapp 62 Stunden in einen Eisblock eingefroren und 2002 stand er für 35 Stunden auf einer 32 Meter hohen Säule.
Bei seiner letzten Aktion „Above The Below“ im Herbst 2003 hungerte David Blaine 44 Tage lang in einer Glasbox, die nahe der Londoner Tower Bridge an einem Kran hing.
Laut Spekulationen der englischen Presse erhielt David Blaine für Live-Übertragungsrechte seiner 44tägigen Aktion eine Summe zwischen 600.000 bis 1,2 Millionen Britische Pfund (870 000 - 1,75 Millionen €) von den Fernsehsendern „Channel 4“ and „Sky One“. „Channel 4“ präsentierte „Above The Below“ auf seiner Homepage unter der Rubrik „Entertainment". Der „Guardian“ titelte „Ilusions of grandeur“. Für das Publikum ist er Schausteller, Künstler oder ein Erlöser wie Jesus. David Blaine selbst sagte am Ende seines Fastens: „Ich habe in dieser kleinen Box mehr gelernt als in all den Jahren zuvor. Ich habe gelernt, wie wichtig es ist, einen Sinn für Humor zu haben und über alles zu lachen, da sowieso überhaupt nichts irgendeinen Sinn macht.“

For his most recent action ‘Above The Below’ in fall 2003 David Blaine starved himself for 44 days, hanging on a Plexiglas box on a crane near Tower Bridge in London.
According to the British Press, David Blaine is said to have received between 600,000 and 1,2 million GBP for the 44 days live broadcasting by ‘Channel 4’ and ‘Sky One’. ‘Channel 4’ presented ‘Above The Below’ on their homepage under the rubric: Entertainment. One title used by ‘The Guardian’ was ‘Illusions of grandeur’. For the public he is a showman, an artist or even a redeemer like Jesus. On his release David Blaine said himself: ‘I have learned more in that little box than I have in years. I’ve learned how important it is to have a sense of humor and to laugh at everything because nothing makes any sense anyway.’
